Happy Thanksgiving!
Fall is my favorite time of year! I love autumn colors and the cooling temperatures. Fall brings Halloween and Thanksgiving which are two of my favorite holidays. I like Halloween because I am a fan of the macabre, horror movies, supernatural stories, and I love seeing all the children dressed up having the time of their lives. Thanksgiving brings a different excitement. The excitement of family and friends. It brings the reminder to focus on the good things that have happened throughout the year.
Please take the time with your family and guests, as you sit around the dinner table, to keep thanksgiving traditions alive. Share with each other what you are thankful for and take a moment to share how it impacted you. Let me begin.
What I am thankful for has changed as I have grown and matured. As a child, I was often thankful for gifts that I received or material things that I possessed. Now that I am near the half way point of my life I am thankful for experiences and memories. Of coarse I am thankful for a job, shelter, and food, but now that time slips by quietly and quickly, I am grateful for my memories and experiences. I am grateful for time spent with loved ones who have passed on. They live eternally in my memories and stories that I pass on to my children. They live eternally in my values, my personality, and my contributions to this world. I am grateful for my children and the moments that we have spent together. With my children, I am grateful for the good times and the bad times. I would not exchange any moment I have had with them for anything else. I am thankful for my wife. I can tell you that we have gone through many challenging times, but I would not change them for the world. I am thankful for my Mother and the example of strength that she has been while living through very challenging times in her life.
All the moments, memories, and experiences that I have had created who I am. Now I know that seeking more experiences and making more memories will continue to shape who I am and who I will become. Thank you to all who have helped shape me. I pray that you will find peace and happiness. I pray that the more peace and happiness we find that our peace and happiness will spread. Like a wildfire, I hope the world will catch the fire of peace and love.
Take it easy my friends and family.
