Diet Update & Thoughts on Government
I apologize for not keeping as close of tabs on my trial of the carnivore diet, but I think I am have done about five weeks of the carnivore diet. A lot of what I have done has been by trial and error as well as watching and following some YouTube videos. I chuckled a little this morning because as I watched a video I thought to myself, “what if they are saying that they are following this carnivore diet, but in reality eating a different way and laughing all the way to the back?” Anyways, rest assure I am really doing the diet and learning as I go along.
The biggest mistakes that I have made so far is not eating enough fat. Eating fat, about half of your calories from animal fat, is important to this diet and is the main source of energy. A lot of carnivores advise that you not exercise while adapting to using fat as an energy source. Due to my profession, I was not able to stop exercising and had to push through the fat adaptation process and let me tell you it was rough when I attempted to run and jog. This summer I was easily able to jog six miles, but when I tried to jog for the first time while on this diet I made it one painful mile. The good news is that my body is using fat more efficiently as a fuel source and cardio is not as painful. I am waiting on the day that I am completely fat adapted and can see how my endurance compares to when I was on a standard American diet. I will let you know.
Weight loss is also a big reason why people start a carnivore diet. So, I would be remiss if I did not speak on that shortly. I am currently at 184lbs which is down from 194lbs. Not too bad I would say and I even had a three or four days of eating a regular diet while I visited family over the holidays. Sugar did give me a stomach ache after not having it for about a month, but I recovered quickly and had no problem resuming the carnivore plan.
I’ve been thinking about government, the constitution, the three branches of government, and how the federal government gets way more attention than local government. As the people of the US, where should we put most of our effort and where can we make the most impact? At the federal level or the local level? In my opinion we need to direct our efforts and attention at the local level first. The local government is where an individual can make the biggest impact and help direct change. After making an impact at the local level, then action can be taken in the district, then the state, and then the federal level. The changes made at the smaller level will make a greater impact at the next higher level than an individual starting from federal level on down.
Just a thought. Anyways, Take It Easy and I’ll talk to you next time.
